The Petersfield Tomorrow Town Character Group who are coordinating the development of Town Design Statement first met in September 2006. Here are the minutes of progress so far:

Where are we now?

We started in November 2006 and have completed the following:

• Discuss with local authority
• Form steering group
• Form secretariat and editorial team
• Training session/workshop to identify main issues
• Establish project identity
• Publicise the project, and call for volunteers
• Project launch event - Saturday June 16th, The Square Petersfield
• Form neighbourhood groups
• Held the Petersfield Tomorrow Festival as part of the consultation phase.
• Undertake gathering of views from local areas, June - September 2007
• Exhibition - January 2008
• Review views collected
• Prepare draft version of the Town Design Statement, September 2007 - January 2009
• Public Consultation on draft version, February 2009
• Revise draft, May 2009

• Presentation of final draft to the public at Petersfield August Festivities 2009

and are moving on to:

• Secure approval as a supplementary planning document
• Revise and publish
• Publicise
